Qualifying adult learning professionals in Europe

Successful lifelong learning of adults needs to be supported by well qualified staff. This presents all European countries with a complex task, given the diversity of job profiles and work contexts in the adult learning sector and the scarcity of empirical research.

This volume provides policy makers and practitioners with an overview of current professionalisation efforts in Europe and points out the major challenges for further action. It includes contributions by renowned adult education researchers as well as short presentations of good practice examples.
