Vranov nad Topľou, Slovakia
Completed his Master studies in Power engineering at the Technical
University in Koice, later, after the fell of Communism he studied
international relations at Georgetown University, Washington and
European studies at UFSIA Antwerp, Belgium
Started his professional career as a researcher
After 1989, he begun to be politically active within
Christian-Democratic Party in Slovakia
Member of the Slovak Parliament (1992-1998), chairmen of the Committee
for Foreign Affairs
In Slovakia known as State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs and the Chief Negotiator of the Slovak Republic in the
negotiations on the accession to the EU
Representative of the Slovak Government in the Convention on the
Future of Europe (2002 2003)
Teacher of European studies at University of Trnava
Author of various publications on international relations, including
several publications on the road of Slovakia to European Union
